i think its great that oddworld are making games quicker but i think it is better if they have more deatail aswell rather than a rushed game. this fangus guy semmes alot like stranger and maybe he was named after his counrty of we know him simply by his name for his race/ people and there for the country means the land of the fangus people. just guessing.

I'll be honest, I'm feeling pretty danged skeptical about this though I don't know how reliable the said magazine is. I know that OWI are aiming for a game a year, but the plot, character, artwork...everything just seems to detailed for such a small company to have produced, just a few months after releasing a game, to me anyway. I may be proved wrong, but until someone gives official word I'll stay sceptical.

Nice drawing, it's actually pretty close, the hat's a bit thinner, the toes are smaller with claws, there's only one bullet sling, but otherwise that's pretty damn close.
As for tentacle_orgy, what will you do if you're wrong?

Well, to answer some questions scattered about, one, he already said that he got his copy from a subscription 2 weeks earlier than the news stand, so you'll have to wait until then.

Two, yes, he does look an awful lot like Stranger, but I tried to follow the descriptions down to a tee (with a little aristic freedom, of course) and that's just how it came out. The hat was the only thing not in detail enough for me to get an accurate depiction, so I guessed at the look of it. Sorta Stranger-like but also a shredded, war-torn look to it.

Well, I'll be waiting for his reply, and I believe him, about 85%. By the way, are you the same guy who posted this on the Oddworld forum at Gamespot/Gamefaqs? If not, then I think we have a little more proof of this being true, seeing as how multiple people have the copy.

Here's another person on that same Oddworld forum I told you guys about that got their GameInformer in the mail. This member is actually very trusted and is a great member, so that raises my hopes. I now believe you 99% Lawnchair.

I just hope in this one the characters are more detailed, in Stranger's game, he, the Clakkers, the Grubbs and certain Outlaws were the most detailed, however, once every so often you did find the odd Outlaw who was so unbelievably undetailed it's laughable.

One that springs to mind is the last Outlaw before you're caught.

Isn't rabies caused by a carnivorous bacteria that infects the brain? Wouldn't that eat away at Fangus' brain, causing extensive, irrepairable damage to him? Rabies isn't curable to our knowledge because of what it does to the brain...

I can totally believe everything this guy is saying about the magazine, but nobody knows if this is actually the real deal, or some kind of well made april fools joke. Right now this is just a rumor. One piece of incredible art work is not exactly solid evidence that a game is in the works. I'm sure artists at OWI don't always draw pictures from Oddworld games. Gameinformer isn't a very reliable magazine in the first place, so let's not jump to conclusions just yet. I really hope this is true, the concept sounds pretty intriguing.

The name Fangus just reminds me of fungus.
I think Stranger has kinda liony appearance, so Fangus will resemble him.?

Yeah I finally got to a scanner and uploaded the image to "my" server...
I'm glad y'all enjoy it and that I could somehow add to everyone's odd life...
Though on a side note, my server will probably burn out soon if it get's viewed much more, I'll try to find another server to upload it to, in the mean time if it burns out just inform me and I'll endeavor to fix it...

Anyway, is anyone else worried that it might lose the Oddworld charm by going so dark? I mean, some of the most appealing things about past games and characters were that they were likeable, even Stranger to an extent. But whatever, as I said before, I trust OWI.

I Do want to oddworld to make a dark oddworld game, but I also want Fungus to be a character which is likeble, has strenghts and also weaknessess and a background. Oddworld are on of those company's than make great characters and story lines to go with them. And we just saw the first image of this character.

Yeah, he dose look like some kind of felion. But I love his guns, and boots,and his kilt and hat, or disc. Yeah, this game aint a western.

I think it is a little strange that they make strangers wrath where the lead character hate guns and now the lead char. in the next game is packed with them, but also makes me a little sad that will not do a followup on strangers story :/
could be cool with a Fangus VS Stranger The Final Showdown :P

there is also another thing steef is based on a mountain goat and Fangus is a shepard hmm...
