Hello forum-goers. Abe Babe, Elum and myself have been setting up and evaluating these new forums. You will notice that they have a similar layout to the old ezboard, but the UBB allows a lot more customization as well as an absense of advertisements!

Post your thoughts on the new Oddworld Forums here, both positive and negative feedback is useful.

Well I'm a bit disappointed with the move to UBB because since I got the net I've almost exclusively been using EZboard. I guess I'll adjust though. It's still looking pretty cool, although the meep in the logo seems poor quality.

I am really impressed with our work on the UBB. Its such a step up from the Ezboard. Way to many banners and advertisements. The UBB will work out to be a lot better for all of us. Our post counts isn't that big of a lost.

The Meep is kinda poor quality, but thats just a temporary header..Abe Babe is working on a new one.

Hello, folks! The layout is pretty much simmilar to Ezboard's one. I guess I just need to get used to it. The fact that there is no ads around here is very good, too.

For some reason, the quality of the one-eyed creature becomes poor after I export it through photoshop. There are little specks on it that weren't on the original file.

Will the number of posts change the Member's Title like on the old board? If so are the titles going to change from 'Mudokon ..." to something new?

Well don't I feel stupid. I can see the titles there now, they weren't there when I looked earlier.

There's a whole lot of things that we will be looking to do with the board. Like bring in the custom photo display, more user ranks, etc. This will just take a little bit of time however, as myself and Sydney are both new at customizing a Forum like this.

Is there a way of enabling HTML in the signature? UBB code is pretty restrictive. (I'm testing HTML in my sig now but it says it won't work)

i don´t like tje new forums. i was just getting used to the old one and now there´s another forums. I don´t like the regristation here. What was this big text you got to read when you registered here? Rules?
Isn´t there any german forums?

OMG...well, I'm used to this type of UBB forum from jediknight.net, so I guess I can adjust to it...but what about all the posts from the other forum? Have they been lost for all time, or just placed somewhere? Actually, gimme a sec, I'm gonna check the old forums address.


UPDATE: Okay, the old forum still exists, but can we still post on it? If so, what was the point of this forum, most users would probably prefer to stay with the old one.

freakyLA: The "agreement" at the beginning is just the default one that comes with the software. It just carries on about legal stuff, you don't really need to read it. Just click "agree," as you did. We could probably change it.

Dave, the new forum is being implemented through phased conversion. Plus, we did want to know what everyone thinks. Personally, I think it's great. I can't understand the attatchement to EZboard. I assume that since the first response was negative, everyone jumped on the bandwagon - it tends to happen sometimes.


The old posts are safe and sound, and can be stored where they are now; at the ezboard.

After a few days, depending on many things, the EZboard will be locked, making everything only viewable so new topics (and replying) can't be made.

Well I'm adjusting to the new forums and it seems pretty good. But are you guys going to allow HTML code in signatures?

Well, I get used to the new forums. I think it`s cooler then the old one. The best thing is the logo. meeps look cool and cute.

I guess I'm just used to EzBoard, since I've been using it for over a year. But, just as Munch changed platforms, we're just gonna have to sit back and get used to it

I think the new forums is COOL! I can now do italics and bold writing with ease!

It just feels so emty here... Hopefully, all the old members will be back withing the next few days...

And signing up was a breeze! It was so easy and only took one minute! I'm looking forward to the new forums expanding and getting more members.

But now I have to get ALL the way back to a Shaman again. Oh well, it's worth it for these new KICK ASS forums!

Some people aren't even giving it a chance. It is soo much better than Ezboard that its not even funny. It will only take about 5 minutes to get used to it, the design looks better too. We worked hard, at least try it out.
