Spinach lately here hasn't been good. And for good reason. E. coli.
A bacteria on the spinach has been making people sick, and even killing a few people. It has been traced to a company in California, but some think it may be beyond that.

Funny. Spinach is bad. Children everywhere will rejoice. Atleast, until the problem is fixed

Raw spinach FTW!

Cooked spinach = vomitous mush.

Spinach = Best when you grow it yourself or if you buy it organically. According to what I've been told, the stuff you get in tins is processed so much that all the nutriants and stuff are non-existant. Full of pesticides and chemicals anyway.

Bleh.

My thoughts exactly. Same goes for broccoli. Either is fine raw and with some ranch dressing in a salad or something, but cooked... *shudder*

Hmm. So E. coli, eh? Fun.

I always liked spinach better out of the can. I've never been a picky eater and I'll eat damn near anything or at least try it once.
Even though this strain has managed to infect 12 states(last I knew) its only has one confirmed death. Come on.
One last thing: How many times is this going to be hyped with the word "virulent"? Virulent has far more to do with how damaging something is rather than its rate of infection. Not to get all meta or anything, but if I was Ebola I'd be seriously pissed off.

I'm fine with broccoli in a stir-fry but steamed on its own (without mucho-spices) it tastes gross.

E. coli gets a bad press doesn't it? And yet we all have it. Huge numbers of them in our gut. The problem occurs when they get into places that they aren't supposed to.

Remember:

:
It just ain't E-coli unless it's flying outta both ends
