Mud Count List?

I'm replaying NnT to try and 100% it. Is there a list anywhere that has the count of the number of muds in each level? I don't want full explanation of secret locations, just the counts so that I know I don't miss any.

I had hoped they'd include per-zulag counts like in AE, but I guess not.

70 in RF.??? in stockyards, but there are 6 secret areas.
I think theres 7-9 in para temple , but theyre all in the one place.
Scrab temple is in 3 secret areas, dont know the exact count but theyre all together. (The mudokons, that is)
Zulag 1 has a shit tonne. Basically the same as RF tho, minus a few.
I dont know exact counts for the rest, cuz theres also a shit tonne across all the zulags.
And theres 9 in boardroom.

I hope that wasnt too much info.

When Im speedrunning I dont exactly know how many in an area, I just have memorised when I run past the screens showing the csualties and saves I know what the number SHOULD say when I run past it.

I redid Zulag 1 yesterday now that I know what secret areas look like and got 68. Redid it today, without doing any extra secret areas and got 69. I suspect that what happened yesterday is that I went on ahead to clear a screen of some sligs and forgot to go back to save two muds. Now I just need to work out what's going on with Mister 70 - I've gone back entirely to the start and haven't spotted him.

Definitely off, given I just saved four muds at the beginning of the Scrabanian temple. And those numbers only add up to 287.

There's a secret area in the temple that wasn't there before. I have no idea where it is, but I remember that it's definitely there.

For completionists sake, I'll post this list here. They're from IGN and look to be accurate so far. The only correction is the Scrabanian Temple and they add up to 299 now.

Zulag 1 - 70
Stockyards - 41
Paramonian Temple - 9
Scrabanian Temple - 15
Zulag 1 Revisited - 73
Zulag 2 - 29
Zulag 3 - 36
Zulag 4 - 20
Board Room - 6

Oh god, this one. Drove me mad in Scrabania yesterday.

Is it just me or is it just sticky keyboard controls or is the Paramonia secret area a total bitch now?

Nope. That area is totally fucked up. It's because of the roll momentum mechanic. If it's not reverted to the way it was in the old games I see a lot of pain in my future.

My issue went beyond that and to the fact that throwing the meat takes far too long, because you've got to press the F key, wait for the animation to sloooowly finish, then press E, then the paramite ignores the meat anyway and attacks you. Also, sometimes you'll roll through, jump up and make it. And other times the paramite will jump up and get you. The same things happened with slogs - I'd try to jump past them and fail, then try all sorts of stupid alternatives, just because they behave inconsistently.

if you wanted to know locations u couldve just watched one of my 100% runs. Theyre not useful for showing how to play the game but mud locations are unchanged. My methods might be a little strange sometimes :P

When I brought up the inconsistencies to the devs they insisted that it wasn't inconsistent but that very small changes in action could change the outcome drastically, to the point where it may as well just be inconsistent.

Yeah, but I don't want to have to watch a whole video to find one tiny bit of information. Videos playthroughs have their place, but definitely not as walkthroughs.

yeah, thats what I do. Roll and drop the meat, jump to the lever and then have them all die at once. makes the second part a little less stressful.

Urgh. That could have been made clearer. Although that explains why I kept dropping grenades and blowing myself up when I was trying use the 'E' key to pull a lever.

There's a nice long list of testers in the credits, but it's pretty clear to me that JAW didn't do any enough usability testing of the PC port. I wasn't expecting them to be identical to the original controls, but in some cases they're really quite unnecessarily obtuse. And as for the process of reassigning controller buttons - I'll remove the strikethrough there and say that it was completely untested. I spent hours trying to work out how to do it. I could seriously design a better system in less time than it took me to work out what I was meant to do.

All of which I'm trying to say is: If Xtra Bones happens, PLEASE do more testing when you're doing the PC port, JAW. Hell, get in touch with me and I'll do it for free.
