GBA Munch's Oddysee Sprites

Hello all,

I have decided to rip all of the Sprites and backgrounds from the Gameboy Advance version of Munch's Oddysee. It is very time consuming so at the moment I have for you only the sprites from the first level.

Here they are:

Abe Sprites

Story Screens

Backgrounds - Mediation Site

I have ripped more (Such as Munch, and the Sligs) But have not completed all of them (It's very time consuming, as the program only lets you save one frame at a time.)

Enjoy!

Level Two - Watchdogs

Thanks guys

The second level is an odd level in the sense that the background aren't as easy to rip. They seem to have different chunks of backgbrounds from different levels stuck on top of them, and the backgrounds are all over the place, so this is the best bit of a cut and past job to try and make the map for the first level.

However, the 3D backgrounds are much easier to rip.

Evenwurst Board

(To Make up for the lack of backgrounds I'll give you some cool sprites )

Shaman Sprites

Possesion Orb

(Poorly animated, also, I haven't figured out how to loop my animations, so if anyone could tell me how to do that by using Gamemaker, I shall worship them forever.)

Fantastic work, I'm thoroughly impressed. Keep up the good work, there's probably plenty of uses for this kind of material.

I do it using a GBA emulator to rip each sprite seperately (It can only rip the sprites that are on the screen at that time, so it takes ages to get a full animation)

And one of the reasons I'm ripping them is for people (myself included) to make games with them. Feel free to use them

Wow. What an honour! /salutes.

When I have all the sprites finished I will group them more conveniently that just lots of different images of sprites (I'll put all the Mudokon's together etc.) I will also animate them all.

Why is the ‘Up Hello’ more than twice the length of the ‘Down Hello’?

I think I added the sprite sheet incorrectly Max. I will fix it

I am struggling to get the next set of sprites, as in order to get them I need to play the game. It's easy to play the game on the GBA, but on the PC through an emulator, it's quite difficult (partly due to the fact that whenever I try to grab the sprites or the backgrounds my keyboard refuses to work and my computer emits a loud BEEEP sound.)

I am also fairly focused on other things as the moment, such as exams and a film I am making for competitions, both of which take priority I'm afraid.

Don't worry, then will get done, just not as soon as I'd have liked them to have been.

There are ten levels left I think.

Erm, sorry for asking (I don't have the game), but is the game 2D or 3D?

And Evenwurst Weenerz Co.? Was that location supposed to be in the Xbox game?

The game is 2D but uses 3D models (I think) as sprites. The game is played using a birds eye's view, making it alot more "3D" than the previous two Oddworld Gameboy games.

Evenwurst Weenerz Co. and all of the other locations in the game, such as Breakwind Hill and Fort Glocks (apart from the Raisins cave) are all original to the GBA Game, as the game follows a completely different story to the Xbox version.

Umm... I might be able to help speed up the process. You say you can only rip one sprite at a time, there is a program, see here:
http://www.gmdsoft.de/menne/z3c/animget.htm

It takes a picture every 0.10 seconds and then saves them, say you could make all those sprites (Besides levels) in less than an hour with it. Good Luck!
