I would have like some more elaboration on the aftermath in the days following. and maybe some names to the fifty-or-so bodies. Did Ernie Macmillan survive? And what of Dean Thomas' history that she never got around to writing? We'll find out eventually, I'm sure. JK has far too much material on her world in her notes not to publish some kind of accompanying text with it all in.

Well, his history (as listed on her website) is canon, whether she's put it into a book or not. She certainly hinted towards it in this one.

She did say that she wanted to put together an encyclopedia of the Potterverse that would compile all of her random notes and backstories together.
