Question I need help deciding

I am going to get a new game and I have fallen for the gta series so I want ppl's opinions on what I should get, I've played san andreas and I liked it except for the gangster theme, no offence to anyone but it's not my style, so I'm thinking I would prefer the 80's theme of vice city. so for ppl who have played the games which do you think I should get for my xbox? keeping in mind that the xbox versions are extremely improved over the ps2 versions.

Wait and get both. They're all extremely good in my opinion.

If I was in your situation SA is probably a better choice as it's a longer, more involving and more replayable game than the other ones. And you learn to love the gangster theme over time.

I say get SA because even with the gangster theme it's still a better/has more replayability then the other ones.

too bad they didn't have a gta where you could pick the theme like they would have choices between mafia, gangwarfare, retro, punk and other crap like that.

I'd say you should check out the first two (you know which ones I mean) before purchasing San Andreas. I would think you'd like to own all three games at some point, right? It might be difficult to adjust to the less evolved gameplay of the previous ones after witnessing the insanity that is San Andreas. Start with GTA III and Vice City, then buy San Andreas.

Second'd.

And GTA3 is better than Vice City.

I played gta III but I played it for ps2 so lacking a little on praphics but still and excellent game not as in depth as SA of course but still really fun, but also alot more difficult then with the mafia. but I only played gta 3 for a short amount of time not trying to complete any missions. still keeping in mind that the xbox version is improved. now I just need to find someone who has vice city preferably for the xbox to try it out.
