What are the worst things you've ever done? The spectrum is wide here, I'm not necessarily talking about crimes, it can be anything. Something that could get you in really really deep trouble or where the risks are very high.
The worst thing like that I've ever done was take a knife to school. There was that time I stole from a pet shop but that wasn't really that bad.

Actually, it was illegal. Or at least questionably legal, given that my boss the archaologist hadn't gotten permission from the Antiquities Authority.

The grave was of a several-centuries-BC Idumean, so it wasn't ethically wrong per se. My boss had asked me if I had religious qualms about exhuming a grave and I said no. I felt twinges of doubt when I went down to the site and saw buckets full of what were clearly human bones. I felt quite uncomfortable when I realised that I would have to stand on one grave in order to dig through the other*. But then when I found a heavily verdigrised copper ring, it really sunk in that I was digging through what used to be a person and I almost had a panic attack. I felt very short of breath and needed to get out of the cave in which we were digging, then refused to get back in.

* Judaism has quite a strong taboo against desecration of - and even standing on graves. I managed to justify my involvement of the first one because it wasn't a Jewish grave, but superstitions stay with you anyway.

Well, suffice to say that I do not condone, nor have I ever condoned, hitting girls.

I was fourteen as well, maybe fifteen, and walking home on my own (as per usual). A rather unpleasant girl from my History class was walking with her friend a few feet behind me. After a few minutes of whispering, a ball of paper hits me in the back of the head. Then another. I try to stay calm, and start to walk more quickly. They keep up, and start throwing small stones. Those hurt.

I turn around, and ask them as politely as I can manage to leave me alone. They smirk, I sigh; I turn around to keep walking while the girl jams her foot around my ankle to try to trip me up. I keep my balance, just.

I'd done my best to leave fighting behind me at primary school (and I did my share back then), but after a few minutes of repeated tripping and the occasional smack to the back of the head, and every pacifist/cowardly option exhausted, I turned around to shove her away.

I'm not quite sure when in the following two seconds I decided to punch her in the face instead. It didn't feel like a conscious decision, but then spite is a powerful thing.

I hit her, she stumbled back, her friend went quiet. She looked puzzled, and then burst into tears.

Two blokes on the other side of the street turned around and started making their way across the street whilst calling me things I hadn't even heard before. Feeling it was safe to assume that they'd taken her side, I went for the sensible option and ran like fuck.

I used to throw gravel at a boy when I was about 12 under the impression he wouldn't retaliate because I'm a girl. When he eventually returned fire with what felt like a small boulder (that gave me a horrendous nosebleed for the next hour or so) I was quite pissed off. Looking back, I utterly deserved it.

You probably shouldn't have punched her in the face but she was being abusive, cruel and malicious. She deserved what she got.

I was a cunt to my cousin for about five years in my teens in a non-specific way. Don't even know why. He's one of my best friends now, so I was probably just taking juvenile shit out on him.

She dobbed me in to a teacher (which was well within her rights) but omitted the bit - i.e. most of that afternoon - where she and her friend threw rocks, kicked, and generally smacked me about (which wasn't).

Luckily my friends believed me, even if no-one else did. The teacher ruled that he couldn't prove anyone's story and just let us both off the hook.

I can appreciate this story is tame by a lot of peoples' standards, but it was one of the worst days of my life. It was the first time that I failed to meet my own standards, and lost my self-respect. Also I made someone cry, which is never good.

then again i'm a spiteful cunt so

as far as i'm aware, i haven't done anything completely rotten. once me and my friends phoned a girl we disliked and pretended we were a girl that was being stalked by a man in nothing but a trench coat, and they ended up phoning the police and getting abuse from her dad.

that was not a very nice thing to do and we instantly regretted it
