Abe's Exoddus pc version sound thingie

Ok...First of all: Yes, I'm still alive and well maggots.
2nd: Anyone noticed how the pc version of abe's exoddus (both original and oddboxx version) have some sounds that sound a bit lower in pitch or distorted? like the music in mudomo vaults and the secret area little music thingie???
If so I tried to edit the sounds.dat with audacity by importing it as raw data but couldn't edit it correctly cuz i didn't manage to choose the right settings or something (heck and i'm supposed to be a guitarist X_X).

P.S.
I did search everywhere and seems like no one ever talked about this.

Well, at least one person talked about it.

Since then, I've also replaced the file with a flat tone. All sound effects were replaced by beeps of varying pitches, confirming that gameplay sound effects are repitchificated* and used as ambient noise.

*Not a word

But it wasn't exactly this (for lack of a better word) "problem" that was discussed...it was how to edit sounds .dat...what i'm asking is...why the hell are AE sounds on pc version are horrible in comparison to AO or AE on PS?

Well, Goldwave can open and edit .dat files and save them again with no problems.

Again not my point, please read my last post more carefully.

Maybe it’s something to do with how AO and AE PC swap the left and right audio channels? The simple answer is probably no one knows.
