Music V4 to the floor

I jizzed at 2:02.

Mr. Bungle 07-27-2010 02:07 PM

Some awesome, brutal, and pretty technical old-school death metal. If anyone heres a Cannibal Corpse fan, they should recognize the vocalist - it's George "Corpsegrinder" Fisher. Not a huge CC fan, but this band kicks ass.

Ridg3 07-27-2010 02:20 PM

I've never been a big fan of Death Metal, I prefer more melodic death metal... sounds picky, I know, but it's better.

Mr. Bungle 07-27-2010 02:24 PM

I like some melodic-death metal, but I find a lot of it sounds the same, at times. Amon Amarth is one of my favourite bands, though. But who doesn't like them?

Wings of Fire 07-27-2010 02:33 PM

I don't, but that's dislike through exposure.

I don't really like death or black metal vocals because 99% of the time it sounds fake. You should sing passionately or you should sing well. If you're not going to do either then you should stop taking yourself seriously like these guys.

Ridg3 07-27-2010 02:41 PM

Sometimes growls can add to a song but yeah, they're becoming overused, most of the melodeath bands I like are the ones that incorporate clean vocals as well.. Amon Amarth are dangerous as fuck but does not hold a candle Scar Symmetry...

The clean really takes the song to a new plane in my opinion, if it were just growls it wouldn't be anything special.

EDIT: Mr Bungle... where's your avatar of the cow... I liked that better.

Wings of Fire 07-27-2010 02:47 PM

I actually like Scar Symmetry. My brother got their debut album like four years ago and I was pretty impressed.

This is a use of growly vocals I like, probably because it's growled over Sharon den Adel's gorgeous... erm, noises.

Ridg3 07-27-2010 03:02 PM

I've always been fascinated by Aryeon, not a big fan but their music has always been interesting, they certainly don't write songs the way other Prog? metal bands do. But, yeah, I agree with you on the use of vocals harsh and clean.
But there is only one person you cannot beat due to the sheer power in his voice, Marco Hietala.

I know I already posted Nightwish, but hey, they deserve another mention.

OANST 07-27-2010 03:05 PM

That shit makes my bowels quiver.

Wings of Fire 07-27-2010 03:06 PM

Marco is an awesome singer yeah.

Every Pink Floyd fan in the world is going to hate me for this, but I love their cover of High Hopes, sung exclusively by him.

Ridg3 07-27-2010 03:14 PM

Out of all the covers Nightwish ever did there is only three songs I can listen to over and over. What you posted simply because Pink Floyd is awesome and they're being covered by an equally fantastic band... another one was the Symphony of Destruction cover that I posted in the last thread.

This one is a cover of Gary Moore's Over the hills and far away, pay particular attention to 0:22.

OANST 07-27-2010 03:16 PM

You guys need some better metal.

Ridg3 07-27-2010 03:22 PM

Dear God OANST, you dark horse you. As jibberish as it was I enjoyed that.

One of my favorite Melodeath bands at the minute. Their old stuff was shit before they brought in Sabine Weniger and thus complimenting my growl/clean vocals argument. Another thing that really attracted me to this band was the lyrical content based on animal cruelty.

Shit, man. That's fucking Ministry. And not only is that Ministry, but it's Gibby Haynes from Butthole Surfers singing. You got's to be knowin' 'bout that shit.

Wings of Fire 07-27-2010 03:28 PM

I know Ministry!

Time to post a Japanese song that I certainly wouldn't class as J-pop and make everyone hate me.

OANST 07-27-2010 03:32 PM

Now that I'm reminded of Butthole Surfers I think that I should post their big song.

Daxter King 07-27-2010 03:35 PM

Surf that butthole OANST.

Bad Religion - The Devil In Stitches by Epitaph Records

Ridg3 07-27-2010 03:36 PM

WoF, as much as I hate Japanese music, I can't hate that song, for it's title reminded me of this...

I know that this is contradictory of the highest order, but go fuck yourself :)

OANST 07-27-2010 03:40 PM

And now that I've talked about Ministry it is imperative that I post Revolting Cock's amazing cover of Do Ya Think I'm Sexy.

Ridg3 07-27-2010 03:44 PM

1:06 must have been the greatest thing I've ever seen

OANST 07-27-2010 03:51 PM

Yeah. Al Jourgenson is awesome. He's funny because he cultivates this image of himself as the hard ass, minority hating, gun toting, should be best friends with Ted Nugent asshole, but really he's about as liberal as it gets. Most of Ministry's music is similar to The Colbert Report. It's social satire.

Hehe, I dunno, I thought the cow was just too...plain. This is a bit more exciting. Could you imagine getting a blow job from that motherfucker?

This is constantly micspammed on a TF2 server I frequent. Still good, though.

Also, Electric Six,

To be honest, I would rather prefer the blowjob from the cow.

This forum lately hasn't been filthy enough for me, allow me to add to it.

EDIT: Dani's vocals give me an eargasm every time I hear them, also Midian has to be the greatest Cradle Album I've ever heard.

Stranger4002 07-28-2010 02:35 AM

This thread needs some good old traditional metal in my opinion; time for some Dio me thinks:

dripik 07-28-2010 03:44 AM

I used to listen to CoF quite a lot some 5 years ago. Midian is indeed a good album, some great songs there, like 'Saffron's Curse' or 'Death Magick for Adepts' - I also enjoyed Nymphetamine.

Just to demonstrate how tastes in music change (or expand, more like), I introduce to you a Russian rock band from the '80s: Kino. Great variety in their songs, you don't get the feeling that you've heard this and that from them before.
