The Golden Era?

Okay, so we all know about the old farts telling everyone about "When I was your age..." or "Back when I was suchnsuch age...." and they claim that back then, it was their prime age blahdiblahdiblah.
But what about you? Did you ever have an era, a year, a month when all was well with the world, and you couldn't be happier, and why? Are you going through it now? Or, for the younger Inhabitants, what would make your Golden Era if you havn't experienced it yet?

For me, I'd have to say, seeing as I don't think I've had one yet, that my Golden Era would be when I leave home and get the job I want. Yeah, I've always wanted to be able to be rid of my insufferable parents and earn my own keep... *sigh* only a few more years...

Alf Shall Rise 09-11-2007 03:10 AM

When I was four and knew nothing about the world. But other then that, no, I've yet to gain this experience.

Mac Sirloin 09-11-2007 03:19 AM

My (Hopeful) golden Era is rooming with a friend of mine, whether during college or not.
I can imagine doing food shopping for foods, AAAAAAAAAAAND knowing how to cook.
Playing Video games every night up until the wee hours of the morning.
Something like in clerks, with Dante and Randall? Except Dante is a better actor-wait, this isn't on topic.

The closest thing to a golden era I had was before I was a thieving, lying asshole and more of a sweet young child, ah well.

Marvak 09-11-2007 03:21 AM

It's okay, we all become theiving, lying assholes sooner or later. *pets*

I can't tell whether I'm in my 'golden age' or not, I don't have any particularly depressingly low points in my life to compare good points too.

We shall see however, with my upcoming trip to Europe, and afterwards when I move out of home with friends.

Alcar...

I like the Goldern Earring, I think one of their best songs was Radar Love.

...

Wait, Golden What?

But seriously. I don't have had a golden era yet, and I doubt it'll ever come.

Yes. Come see me, bitch.

Mac Sirloin 09-11-2007 03:52 AM

Mojo, your sig and that last line go together WAY too well...

Wil 09-11-2007 04:49 AM

I reckon it’s far too late for me to ever have any kind of Golden Age. That said, I am generally getting happier, on the whole. I think. Did you know Sedona has the only McDonald’s outlet in the world to use turquoise arches instead of its usual golden ones? :D

Marvak 09-11-2007 05:13 AM

Turquoise arches?... Odd a-almightly... I'd have fainted in I wasn't already sitting down... Oh m-my...

Jordan 09-11-2007 06:36 AM

I should say when I'm in College or when I leave home. I can't wait to leave my horrible school.

Mutual Friend 09-11-2007 10:05 AM

Ages 5 and 10 were good.

Oh, don't think like that.
We all have some sort of 'peak' in our lives.

Hobo 09-11-2007 03:26 PM

I will decide my golden era when I've lived my life.

Mac Sirloin 09-11-2007 03:59 PM

What if you become invincible and immortal?

Mutual Friend 09-11-2007 04:08 PM

Or if you die?

Hobo 09-12-2007 01:50 PM

Good point.

Strike Witch 09-13-2007 01:36 AM

Invincible and Immortal? wait until the Universe starts to approach Heat Death, when there's nothing left.

Then decide.

Mac Sirloin 09-13-2007 03:10 AM

Well, that is a solid 6.1 billion years....

Alex2405 09-14-2007 07:53 AM

When i reach 40 years!If i will...

Facsimile 09-15-2007 07:32 AM

When I was about 12.

Good times.

I'll probably have another if or when I get over my stubborn disbelief in relationships.

Mutual Friend 09-15-2007 09:38 AM

I'd imagine that would be the case.

Did you post that at like 3 in the morning? Or do i misunderstand

Facsimile 09-15-2007 08:47 PM

Yes I did. We had drinks at our house, but I wasn't really in the mood, so I spent most of the night watching Aqua Teen Hunger Force and looking on forums.

I just...can't agree with you.

mudling 09-16-2007 07:56 PM

My golden era so far was primary school when I was ignorant, and the world seemed great, but I am in high school, so maybe I'll have another one soon, or just after I finnish school.

OANST 09-23-2007 01:16 PM

I think most of you are in for a rude awakening if you think that you are going to enjoy life more when you're out on your own. If this hasn't happened for the rest of humanity what makes you think it'll work for you?

Hobo 09-23-2007 01:50 PM

COS THEY HAVE ABE AND MUNCH MANN.

That's not true, I have a sister who lives alone, she isn't unhappy or bitter.
Sure, she enjoys being at home with her family, but still likes the freedom.

OANST 09-23-2007 02:23 PM

I didn't say that you would be unhappy. I said you won't enjoy it more.
