Is anyone in the christmassy spirit yet? Personally I'm not, it's the 13th, the only decoration up is my Christmas calender, It's cold and manky but not snowing enough for me to miss school/work. And it stopped being as cool when I stopped believing in Santa, it was more fun right?

I haven't been in the proper Christmas spirit since 1986. Every Christmas spirit since then has been in me, and it was whisky.

I'm not pretty apathetic about Christmas this year. Last years was pretty much the same. I've started to care less and less about the material things (as cliche as that sounds), and more about good times.

And those good times generally include booze.

Nope.... Denmark just isnt a fun a fun christmas country. I havent done anything christmassy yet at all.

The only reason I've been such a fan of christmas the past few years, I realize now, is because they were with Chris.

Christmas, to me, really is about love and happiness and bonding. But I dont really have anyone to bond with now.
I don't have my Chris to love and spend pointless money on and play in the snow with Oh god, I miss being in the US so much. It's like a whole new world for me out there. A materialistic one, but sharing with the one I love the most.

I need friends.

I sort of know what your feeling, on a semi-different matter I don't like to ask for lots of things because it strains the family wallet but I sometimes feel I should spend it as a religious holiday, this never happens but at least I'm with close family.

Christmas doesn't have a lot to do with your religion beyond the lies and propaganda though.

I'd feel a lot more Christmassy if I wasn't still waiting on half the gifts I bought to arrive, and starting to wonder if they will.

Well it is the date I celebrate the birth of the Messiah but I'm not starting another God debate I'm to tired. All the same even if you don't believe in God if you go to church it's partly for the community which is warming.

And good luck getting those gifts OANST I hope they arrive for you.

We're planning to put our tree up before the 25th. I'll put money that it goes up on the 24th.

We also need to start our shopping.

I doubt Christmas will be much fun for me. My mom is having trouble with her not-bf. So she may be alone on Christmas, in which case my sister and I will feel obliged to be with her on Christmas. But we'd so much rather spend it with my dad, cos he's been inviting a lot of his Romanian friends. And I really think Romanian Christmases are awesome. These people are always so entertaining.

My mom is even invited. But she doesn't wanna go, cos apparently she still has grudges against my dad, even though she said she doesn't. I think it's really selfish on her part.
I think my mom and dad should at least try to be bearable around each other. They've done it before at my sister's graduation with no problem.
Hm Stress stress stress.

I don't know whether or not to feel festive for Christmas... to me it's a sign that I'm going to be incredibly tired, low on funds and quite possibly jobless at the end of it, season of cheer my hole.

I know for a fact though that I'll feel jolly on Christmas day when I'm over-indulging on chocolate, dinner and 'festive' drinks. After that it'll be the mind numbing stage where cunts come in and refund their presents like cunts.

Chanukah finished last Thursday, so that's the holiday season over and done with for me.

That said, I realised the other day that I actually quite like the way that the city is decked up with decorations. When I was a kid, I used to get annoyed at the religious oppression, but I've since realised that stars and trees and whatnot have as much to do with Christianity as they would with Judaism. Also, the neighbourhood where my parents live puts up Chanukah decorations at the same time as the Christmas ones, so that's nice too.

I'm looking forward to it! And it makes a nice change to have a Toy Story advent calendar as opposed to the one I used to get every year that my mum and dad would fill with gross sweets.

I got most of the packages I was missing yesterday, so that was a relief. However, I found out that my car needs a 900.00 procedure or will soon die completely. That's not cool.

It's the money, man. The fucking money.

I really did come close to having a panic attack last night. We went to bed about midnight, but for some reason it was really warm, and stuffy, and I just couldn't sleep. Two hours later I was still really warm, so I got up and went to the bathroom. On the way, I looked at the thermostat, and saw that it was set to 75.

I immediately woke up April, and asked her if she turned up the thermostat. Groggily, she responds "No. Well, yeah. I was really cold when I got home earlier, so I turned it for a few minutes".

A few minutes, my ass. She turned it up around four or five o'clock, and it had been up that high until two a.m. Do any of you know how much it costs to heat a home my size? What about heating a home my size at 75 degrees when it's -9 outside?

I fucking lost my shit.

Damn. I'm sorry to hear that.
I dont know how much that costs, and I dont know if I want to X_x

Sounds like some bad poo right there. Maybe try and do whatever you can on christmas, and keep a low economical profile after that? It depends on on how big you want your christmas to be I guess.
