Or not.

Update: I was gonna leave OWF until PC N'n'T came out to try and avoid spoilers, but I've since realized that since I'm already familiar with the original game, after reading reviews and watching JAW's livestream earlier, there's nothing much left to spoil, and I'm being a fuckwit.

Original blog title was "*poof*".

Boring blog is boring, and I stole a few seconds of your life using the power of indecision and idiocy. You want 'em back? Tough. :P

Mwhaha....

Rail Fail

I had a naff experience with (UK) train travel a couple of days ago that maybe someone can learn something from. Although this is probably boring.

When returning (to Essex) from visiting family 200 miles away (in Devon), I booked my train a month in advance. Saves money. Cheapest trains (by £10-£15) on the day I wanted to travel ran really late. Crappy journey went something like this:
  • Get last bus from tiny Devon village to Exeter city at 4pm. Pre-booked train back to

"FUUUUUUCK! What the hell do I do?!"

(Yeah I'm late for the blog meme)

... Is what I was saying yesterday whilst standing in increasingly heavier and heavier rainfall, watching stinking, sewage-tainted flood water pool against the wall of my house and flow directly past my front door, while being almost powerless to do anything about it.

20mm of rainfall fell here in Essex yesterday afternoon in the space of an hour, following a day of heavy rain.

Somehow I managed to get away with only...

Welfare rant

Posted 01-31-2013 at 01:23 AM by DarkHoodness
I'll post this here. It may generate conversation. Or not.

I've been coming across articles and discussions about welfare cuts here in the UK for the past couple of years, and there are a lot of things which don't add up.

Why is our government taking away benefits when there aren't many jobs around to start with? When a full time minimum wage job doesn't cover the cost of living, and fuel, food, transport, housing and rent prices are through the roof and steadily rising...

Fireworks are annoying.

Gotta love the UK and our traditions. 2-3 evenings of this every damned November.

(It actually doesn't bother me that much - But it does upset the pets, and that's what annoys me.)

Trump.

Posted 10-30-2012 at 01:42 AM by DarkHoodness
I'm not preaching, this is just some commentary that I also posted on my FB page which may or may not generate some conversation here. But I wouldn't be a true hippy faggot if I didn't say anything about this. Here's a blog about the evils of money, corruption and power for you guys. :P

Yesterday I saw some of the documentary film "You've Been Trumped" in the background while doing other tasks - It was about the American billionaire Donald Trump who bought an area of the Scottish...

I finished watching Lost. Also, script-writing.

Posted 09-04-2012 at 09:33 AM by DarkHoodness
This post may contain minor spoilers if you haven't watched Lost yet.

I got 12 months free LoveFilm with my ISP upgrade, so I took the opportunity to watch Lost while playing Tekkit/Minecraft. Yesterday I finished it up to the end of Season 6.

The ending was touching and the series is good enough to be worth watching if you have the time, but there's a lot they leave un-answered or up to viewer-interpretation, and I kind of get the feeling that there's so much more...

Windows 7 and Pagefile/Hibernation File use... Free up space on system volume!

Some of you may learn from this or find it useful.

When I bought this computer I only allocated 40 GB to my system drive. Big mistake, and I've had to juggle system files a lot, but I've gotten by with it... Until today.

This week, I decided to upgrade - One upgrade was to double the size of my RAM. When booting it up after, I immediately found that my system volume was suddenly full. Disk cleanup only freed a gig, and the file sizes on the drive only added up to half...

End of another adventure.

EDIT: God damn, I'm so boring. I'd make a good politician, judging by how I can sometimes elongate simple things and ramble on about them forever.

This blog said that I enjoyed my time away. Over the two weeks in Devon helping my sis and bro in law running their smallholding, I stopped my sister from being crushed by a runaway caravan, re-built her bike for her 'cause the brakes failed, tried out clay pigeon shooting with my bro in law, spent time with my nephew, and watched both...

In Devon. Also, weather & climate change.

Posted 07-11-2012 at 08:42 AM by DarkHoodness
Been here since Monday to see my sis, bro in law and nephew, and help them with running their smallholding. They produce half of their own food, all of their own electricity, and try and be as self-sufficient as possible, which is what everybody should be doing, but it's bloody hard work.

They live in a forest on a south-facing hillside, home to a lot more wildlife than what I see back in my woods in Essex, so it's nice to be back here. The change of scenery is definitely welcome...
