I'm Gay

Got a job. Finally, I have gotten a job. At a Best Western Hotel. Fuck yeah. So happy.

Maintenance/custodial work is my new thing. Gonna be the right hand man for the maintenance manager (who is an amazing man for getting me this position out of thin air, and just a super nice guy all around).

I'm just so happy to finally be working again I can't really make words. Maybe later.

Life is good.

	Most mudokons are ungendered. Also, a fair amount of muds can't really be gay, it's hard when you're a slave.

	Lorne did seem surprised when I told him how many gay members there were on OWF. He asked me if there was something about Oddworld that is particularly inspirational to gay people. I couldn't think of an answer.

	I'd say it's probably what Lorne said about women and accessibility - because all the heroes of Oddworld are androgynous and inhuman, anyone can relate to it. It's not so much that Oddworld attracts more people, more that it puts less people off.

	I think the androgyny of most of the characters has something to do with gay/trans people finding inspiration, but that's kind of painting the target around the arrow

	When I first started playing Oddworld, I was just a nipper... so I just saw it as a fun game But since becoming an adult, I've understood the commentary it is making and how it's a story about the little guy triumphing against the odds.

	That's transsexual. Transgendered is when you feel out of place as the gender you were born in, and identify as the opposite. It's entirely inaccurate, but until you read up on it a bit and understand better (I'm sure Job can and will explain this much better than I) think of it as pre-op if it makes it easier.

	I always thought that they meant the same thing, I feel stupid now. In fact, I don't know even know the difference between sex and gender, I thought they were the same.
