Oakie Doke and Other Tapes

Posted 06-23-2010 at 08:19 AM by OddjobAbe
Me and my brother have been through all the tapes that my eldest nephew used to have. We even watched a couple. For anyone here with children, I recommend Oakie Doke (which I used to call "Oakie Dokey" by mistake). I'd mention Sooty and Pingu "two other tapes we went through), but I have done before. It doesn't seem two minutes ago that he was sat watching all those things. The hours we had to spend sitting through bloody Fireman Sam!

I just found a Bob Dylan CD I've been looking for for over a year. Turned out it was beneath all my socks in the sock draw. Probably the only place I didn't look.

I remember Oakie Doke! Oakie Doke, Oakie Doke, a helpful handy man.

"Frogs don't have teeth!"

Oakie Doke was fucking great. doesn't he slide down a helter skelter-styled tree in the beginning or something?

I have a bunch of socks that I don't wear, but I can't be bothered sorting them out, so they stay in the draw.

That was a great programme. I don't even remember it from my own childhood, and I still love it.

It's one of the few children't programmes that I don't remember from my own childhood that I genuinely enjoy. It's a great laugh. Especially the theme song. Very bouncy.
