I have become comfortably numb

I just had 2 teeth pulled. After some mildly painful needling in the roof of my mouth, I felt nothing. 4 hours on, my face is still numb.

I'm having another 2 pulled in a fortnight. A few weeks after that, I'm having bands put on. This will be an issue, due to my flute. It'll be hard to cope, but I'll just have to work harder. It will improve my tone in the long term, so it'll be worth it

The main issue is that I'm auditioning for the schools senior concert band sometime in the next week. I may be able to blame some mistakes on my lack of tooth, though.

I remember when I had surgery to remote the superfluous tooth from the front of my mouth- it was growing forward and OUT and.... actually was kinda cool but I didn't have the say.

They gave me the Nitrous gas for the op that time. I still have my wisdom teeth and in an already crowded jaw it ain't a pretty picture. I figure they'll just stay since they're already all grown in.

Try not to slobber into the flute.

The moment I started reading this, I was thinking how badly this could screw up your playing for the time being. I know a good clarinetist/saxophonist who didn't get into his university's marching band because he had just gotten his wisdom teeth removed a short time before the audition. Don't fret though. That seriously only makes things worse most of the time. And you're still pretty young and seem really good for your age, so don't worry if things don't turn out the way you hope for right now.
