Returned Exams as a "U"

I was meant to have finished school about three weeks ago, but I still get called back in for some bollocking.

I had forgotten about the RE exam I sat, so I was wondering why they were dragging me back in.

The deputy head sat me in her office and said "Josh, I have called you back to talk about your RE exam". It still didn't sink in until she said that my paper had been returned to school as an "Unclassified".

She handed me the paper and looked at what I had written...

"Q: In Christianity, why is it looked down upon to have sex before marriage?

A: Fuck knows, religion is just a bunch of bullshit anyway, brainwashing people to control them... (And a lot more that I don't think I should type) ...

I may have to pay a £45 fee to cover the cost of the exam, the fucking bastarding bag.

My argument is I didn't want to do it in the first place so why fucking make me? I have supposed to have left school but no, it keeps coming back to find me.

	The trick there is to be clever and non-offensive about what you're saying. Flesh your argument out with rhetoric and you can lodge a complaint if they refuse to mark it.

	Markers in the UK can legitimately refuse to mark an answer with a swear word in and you'll get Unclassified.

	I'm not too fussed about the U, it's only half a GCSE anyway and I will never need it. It's the -45 quid I'm worried about. -- Also my english teacher said to me that someone used strong language in an english exam and passed it, alough I didn't see if that story was true in this case.

	I say can, at the end of the day it's down to the discretion of the marker. And the kind of people who get their money marking GCSE RE exams...yeah.

	Is the 45 pounds if you need to resit the exam or do you have to pay that as a fine for it being unclassified? If the former, can you just not resit and keep the 'U'?

Hmmm. Yeah, as Joe said. You can be very slightly tongue in cheek providing there is a good reason behind it when it comes to the religion questions, but to swear and... well, yeah.

If you do decide to retake it, don't do the sex before marriage stuff or anything.

In my R.E GCSE exam, I chose the question on Money, Truth and Religion in the media. I deliberately ignored the questions on contraception, sex and infertility treatment, mainly because you are at risk of offending the examiner with your views.

Obviously any examiner with integrity would never let their personal views get in the way of their marking, but you never know if you're going to get the religious or "ethical" one that year who is strongly anything you say regarding those subjects.

Stick to the low key ones. Don't go for anything controversial

	I'm with Laser The £45 is aparently what the school paid for me to take the RE exam, thats why I have to pay it back. I'm not taking a resit, I was aiming for a "U" anyway.

	Well, the arguments used in Exams have to have a logical explanation and a significant vocabulary. That was the problem, but still, man, I'm with you. If you don't need this exam, why bother repeating it?

	i got a fucking U in maths, and i had to pay £20 for a resit. bastards. what made it worse was the teacher was all smarmy about it. as if i need maths in farming for anything more than fucking counting cattle and basic adding and subtraction. with you there joshkrz.

	Oh Maths, I don't mind it much but it was the teacher we had. She would screw at you if you missed out a question you couldnt do. Has it affected your chances of getting a job though? Has anyone heard of an ALAN test, because I'm getting calls all the time saying that I need to go into school blah blah, but I can't be fucked it's not even a GCSE.

Incidentally, it would have been a great answer, were the question "What is your personal, unresearched opinion of religion in general? (additional remarks awarded for swearing and poor rhetoric)"

If a creotard can sit through an entire science course and then pass the exam, the very least you can do is manage to learn a bit about other people's religions and then answer the simplest god damn question on their most basic of tenets. Like it or not, as long as billions of people follow religion and it influences the world as disproportionately as it does, it is an essential class.

That was the action of a moron. Shame on you. The U on your record is well deserved.

The point is BM, is that it's my choice if I want to learn about religious studies along with that it's half a GCSE and I will never need it in any job I will be interested in.

Also I just think religion is a load of crap, I know I went a bit extra on the exam but that was because I was pissed off that I had to sit there for one and a half hours doing something I hate.

I did deserve the U and I think I deserved it well.

	Well congrats, at least you got the grade, GS is something you do need. I tend to try hard at what I'm good at and piss about with what I'm not. Works vice versa really aswell.
